Trust walking all the way to Boulder, Colorado for Emerging Women Live.

4 June 2013

I feel the urge to lay in bed all day and watch movies. In particular Eat Pray Love, Joan of Arc, Here on Earth & Sliding Doors (all movies I have seen before).

7 days later…

I haven’t opened their [Bala Malas by Wear Peace] newsletter in months but something about this one compels me to click on the link.  I’m immediately hit with this image and it takes my breath away.

I feel the urge to be HERE.  My whole body is tingling with this wild joy.

Except I’m not sure where ‘HERE’ is so I read on.

It’s Boulder, Colorado.

I click straight over to google maps – I have no idea where this is.

Interesting…it’s one state up from New Mexico where I was just 3 months earlier.
A spark ignites in my belly. It’s subtle but it’s burning. And I’m smiling.

(My interpretation: Makes total sense.  This image reminds me of New Mexico.  I need to go back there.)

I click back to the email and read on…

“There perched on the side of rock outcropping was a stucco adobe styled home with a view, oh the view! The inside of the home is spacious, all open with a huge sun room spanning the entire west side of the house and uninterrupted view of Bald Mountain. The handcrafted mud Kiva fireplaces sits regally at the center of the open living space.

My heart rate begins to increase. The excitement pulsing through my body has me lean in closer to the screen.

(My interpretation: New Mexico is calling me back again.  There was something intriguing about those stucco adobe style homes and kive fireplaces, wasn’t there?).

I read on…

Surrounded by 200 acres, private trail to nearby waterfall, wildlife abounds!  As I sit in my red chair and wonder at my good fortune, watching the hummingbirds buzz by, and in the evening soaking up the extraordinary starlight, I am grateful, I am still, I have a new perspective.”

Fuck me! She said waterfall and hummingbirds in the same sentence.  By now this spark in my belly is an orgasmic explosion.

(My interpretation: New Mexico is definitely calling me back!)

I close my eyes and daydream.
First I feel myself living in New Mexico.  But that idea is just a little too crazy and oh so unrealistic.
So I scale it back.
I feel myself travelling over there for a month…or even three. If I bring my daughter, I can go longer.  And I really want to go longer.
But if both of us are going, I’m going to need twice as much money.
Which means, this trip is happening anytime soon…end of 2014 if I’m lucky!

Fuck it! Let me just enjoy these visions of hummingbirds, waterfalls, stucco adobe style homes, kiva fireplaces, mountains and open spaces.

10 days later…

In a private Facebook group of just 35 extraordinary women, one of the ladies shares her enthusiasm and fire after attending an event in San Fransico where she hears 4 incredible women speak.  One of them  being Sera Beak (a woman who’s work I really adore).  She then goes on to share that these “mini events” are all in the name of a larger movement called “Emerging Women” with the main event happening in Boulder Colorado which will feature guest speakers such as Brene Brown, Elizabeth Gilbert, Alanis Morisette and more.

Colorado Emerging women

(My interpretation: Shit! It’s not new mexico calling me back…it’s BOULDER!)

You see, the newsletter that landed in my inbox with the image that took my breath away is from a woman who gifted mala beads to Julia Roberts on the set of Eat Pray Love.

My ego would love to say that getting my ass to Boulder was all in the name of some “divine destined” encounter with Elizabeth Gilbert. But deep in my bones, I knew my presence in Boulder at this particular time for this particular event was all in the name of a much bigger purpose.  As for the details of that purpose, that remained a mystery…and still does (to some degree).

But that’s just it.

Your soul is intentionally leading you into the unknown.  It can feel crazy and risky, and in some extreme cases terrifying and dangerous.  But don’t bother trying to make sense of her calling.  If you do, you will dilute Her magic and in doing so, limit your potential.

That’s why this soul journey is known as a trust walk.

Stay open…to everything around you.
Stay aware…to everything within you.
Stay true…to the callings of your Soul.

(And yes…I bought my ticket to the event exactly one month after opening the email with the image that took my breath away.)
