Today I wrote a post on Instagram talking about Phase 5 of the Sacred Dance journey. It’s called “Remember” and as I was writing about it I remembered one of my favourite dance scenes from a movie, The Matrix Reloaded.

Naturally, this got me thinking about my other favourite dance scenes from movies, the ones that made a significant impression on me.

Here are my favourite 7 sexy dance scenes from 5 movies.

 1. The Matrix Reloaded

Best dance scene ever! This is my kind of party. The grinding bodies. The bare feet. The muddy earth. The raw cave. The fire. The tribal drums. The dance music. Say no more. This is {one of} my versions of ecstasy.

2. Blade

Minus the blood and the beatings at the end, this opening scene from Blade has been a long time favourite dance scene of mine. From the secret {and super random} location to the awesome techno music {this was one of my fav peak tracks back in my RPM teaching days} something about this scene left a lasting impression on me. In fact, I’m always on the lookout for the perfect “secret” venue to host my own version of an epic {sacred and sober} Dance Party.

3. Striptease

When I was twelve years old, my stripper essence loved watching every minute of this movie. I use to blast “Money can’t buy it” and “Little bird” by Annie Lennox all the time. Looking back on this now, it’s very likely that my shower routines have been heavily influenced by this one particular scene below.

4. Dirty Dancing

I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve watched this movie. It was on repeat a lot during the holidays in my high school years. This scene, in particular, made a lasting impression on me {possibly more than the final dance scene}. I always saw it as the one place they could be free to dance how they really wanted to dance…and damn it looked like heaps of fun!! Plus, there’s something sexy about Johnny teaching Baby to dance.

5. Thomas crown affair

This is one of my all-time favourite movies {along with Meet Joe Black}. As for the dance scene, it’s the whole tease, power play and seduction between these two sexy actors that I can’t get enough of. Pierce Brosnan can ask me “Do you wanna dance? Or do you wanna dance?” any day of the week.
