Despite having great births, postnatal depression really rocked the boat for today’s special guest.
Her name is Amanda Vella and she’s a writer, birth doula, teacher and the founder of Illuminate Yoga, Sydney. She has a special interest in yoga for addiction recovery and was one of the first certified teachers in Australia in the Yoga of 12 Step Recovery program.
As a leader of the active birth movement in her community, Amanda has also supported hundreds of women and their families during pregnancy, birth and beyond. She works to shift attitudes around birth and raise awareness about postnatal depression.
Amanda lives in Sydney with her partner and their five children aged between 5 and 17.
