a photo recap of my selfish weekend (in honour of my birthday and the start of Selfish for 27 days)

Today I am celebrating the official start of the third round of my online event, Selfish for 27 days!  (If you haven’t joined yet, today is your last chance).  Plus, it’s my birthday tomorrow (23rd October) so I’m little excited about that too!

Over the weekend, I intentionally took some time away from my computer (a big move for someone who works from home and spends a significant amount of time leaning into the laptop).  Whilst I have my small daily doses of selfish moments, every now and then I need an immersion.  And that’s exactly how I spent my weekend.

Here are 5 Selfish moments from the weekend that’s been:

 1. dinner with the girls.

In honour of early birthday celebrations, there’s like dinner with great friends (such as Nicola, Lisa and Tara)and a night on the dance floor.

2. good morning juice and sunshine.

Daily fresh juices has become part of my selfish routine ever since the very first round of Selfish back in September 2011.  It tastes even better when I have one of my good friends joining in the fun.

 3. Fresh flowers.

There is something incredible satisfying about buying yourself fresh flowers.  Try it!

4. exploring something new.

My intention was to head south near Byron Bay to lay on the beach and swim in the ocean.  But I took a detour and found myself at Crystal Castle in Mullumbimby for the very first time. For the next 5 hours I couldn’t pick my jaw off the floor.  I have never seen so many big and beautiful crystals before in my life.  In all honesty, crystals have only become a recent obsession thanks to the beautiful Tara Bliss.

5. Resting in natures embrace

Sipping on coconut water, followed by a dip in the ocean, followed by some cloud watching.  The perfect way to end a selfish immersion.

Over the next 27 days I’ll be giving you a recap of my own Selfish journey.  There will be photos, revelations, poetry, stillness, dancing and a whole lot of goodness.

In the meantime, tell me in the comments below:

1) when was the last time you were selfish?
2) How do you put your own health and happiness first?

Selfish for 27 days starts today!  This is your last chance to join us.

  1. I love the fact that I can now step into being ‘selfish’. I’ve often put others first and now it’s not so much switching off for me – but even just acknowledging that I’m looking after my needs has been a huge learning curve.
As a mum of four kids and looking after lots of other families – it was actually through illness that I came to this place – a place of centredness.
    It’s refreshing.
So for me – it’s eating what makes my body vibrant, making a separate meal if the family are having something that isn’t something I really enjoy, drinking loads of water and I’m about to get back into juicing.
