Roxanne Howe-Murphy is one of those extraordinary divine women whose feet I could sit at and just drink in her wisdom and her teachings. Some quick facts about Roxanne How-Murphy:

  • she is a pioneer and global leader integrating the Enneagram and coaching.
  • she is the Founder of the Deep Coaching Institute and the Deep Living Institute
  • she is the author of Deep Coaching: Using the Enneagram as a catalyst for change

Today, Roxanne and I talk about her latest book Deep Living, the wisdom of the Enneagram, the power of presence and what it really means to come into contact with yourself.  {Heads up: This is not a brief or light conversation. Grab a cup of tea and take it all in}

  1. Susana,
    Thanks so much for creating the space for this conversation to occur. So much of it resonated for me that I don’t know where to begin! I even went back to listen to parts of it again. I seriously believe I am one of those whom Roxanne wrote the book for, both her books are definitely being added to my “must read” list. There were so many brilliant reminders in your conversation. But, being a yoga practitioner and with my recent relationship breakdown I loved most the reminder to connect vertically and not just horizontally to life, reiterating the need for grounding and connecting not only to the heart but also the belly and being present to the moment and allowing whatever the experience is in that moment to be. Thank you again for sharing this. I will watch it again I am sure! Big love to you both! XX

  2. Susana, I love this interview! It’s beautiful to watch you and Roxanne dialogue together. I love that you and Roxanne discuss the Enneagram and the three centers of intelligence: the body, heart and mind. These three centers are one of the gifts of the Enneagram as a system for understanding ourselves.

    One of my favorite parts of this interview is simply your presence. You are calm and grounded in a way that is refreshing, easy and joyful to watch. You exhibit the EASE that you speak of at the end of the interview.

    Another favorite part is where you and Roxanne are talking about the heart and what it means to allow what is here right now without fighting it. I enjoyed your question and Roxanne’s response to what happens when we are in the heart only, without grounding in the body.

    You and and I are kindred Enneagram spirits. This is a gorgeous and deep interview! Thank you for sharing this with us! xoxo

  3. I’ve been trying to get the time to watch this for the past couple of days. I’m so glad I finally planted myself down and did so. I absolutely loved your interview and I did have those “ah… I see it now” moments.

    The first was definitely Roxanne’s comment that this work was to assist us to “let go of our attachment to the way we have known ourselves.” I remember reading a quote from the astrotwins years ago, that went along similar lines in saying that when we look at archetypal images of ourselves we can take a fatalistic point of view and say “Well, this is who I am and there’s nothing I can do about it”, or we can use it as tool of empowerment. As Roxanne said those words it absolutely hit me that there are certain areas where I’ve been identifying with my enneagram type, but not taking it that step further and turning that knowledge into the tool for empowerment. That was definitely a reminder to keep that in mind.

    The other point that really hit home was the alignment of the three centres. Yes! Again, I so needed to hear that. Straight away I recognized myself in some of the words you both said here, and I saw and even felt one area in particular that required that work for me.

    I love the depth that this went into, and I’ve made several notes for myself here. I’m looking forward to learning even more.

    Thankyou xo
